Every year, UA students receive more than $260 million in financial assistance. More than 94% of our first-year students receive some form of financial aid to lower tuition costs.

When you apply for admission, we’ll automatically consider you for our generous merit-based awards. Students who complete the FAFSA will also be considered for additional scholarships to lower the cost of attendance.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

All incoming first-time, first-year students are considered for merit scholarship awards following a comprehensive review. Each review evaluates their academic transcripts, selected curriculum, and cumulative GPA. Test scores are not considered because students are not required to submit them.

Students transferring from another regionally accredited college or university in fall 2024 or later.

Choose Ohio First STEMM Scholarship Program

New and continuing UA students who are residents of Ohio and majoring in a STEMM field.

Goodyear Driving Opportunity Scholarship

For first-generation college students, new and returning, from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Automatically considered when you apply for admission. Available to students from Akron Public Schools.

MAKING AKRON POSSIBLE (MAP) GRANT

Students from Summit, Stark, Medina, Portage, Cuyahoga and Wayne counties who have a family adjusted gross income of $50,000. or less, as determined from their FAFSA.

UA Institutional Grants

Students who complete the FAFSA will be considered for these additional grants.

Smart Choice Scholarship

For students who were previously admitted to UA as first-year students, did not enroll and are re-applying for admission.

Be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.

Use our Title IV code – 003123 – to submit your FAFSA and send it to UA.
